NEW YORK, Jan. 12, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Dr. Noah Greenspan, PT, DPT, CCS, EMT-B is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy with nearly thirty years of cardiopulmonary and complex medical rehabilitation experience.

Noah Greenspan began his professional career at the New York University (now Langone) Medical Center's Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, with clinical rotations in medical, surgical, orthopedic, and neurologic rehabilitation, chest physical therapy and ultimately cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation. From 1995-1999, he served as the chief physical therapist of the Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation Center under the direction of Physiatrist, Horacio Pineda, MD and Cardiologist, Mariano Rey, MD.

In 1998, he founded the Pulmonary Wellness & Rehabilitation Center, a Manhattan-based physical therapy practice specializing in the care of patients with cardiovascular, pulmonary, and complex medical conditions. Under his direction, the Center has conducted over 100,000 exercise sessions and been named "Best of the United States" in cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy.

In 2014, he founded the Pulmonary Wellness Research and Education Society (renamed the Pulmonary Wellness Foundation) with the objective of coupling excellence in cardiopulmonary care with new research and educational materials of the highest caliber, all delivered free of charge to patients, family members, caregivers and clinicians.

In 2017, Dr. Greenspan's "Ultimate Pulmonary Wellness" was published and is also available to read online free of charge and his "Ultimate Pulmonary Wellness" Lecture & Webinar Series is also available to attend online. He is the principal investigator in three ongoing research projects: The Impact of High Intensity Exercise on Pulmonary Function in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD); The Impact of High Intensity Exercise on Pulmonary Function in Patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF); and Safety and Efficacy of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation in Patients with Pulmonary Hypertension (PH). Most recently, his research interests have involved the rehabilitation and recovery of post-covid long haulers.

Dr. Greenspan has trained thousands of patients and hundreds of students and clinicians. From 1995-2003, he was on the faculty of New York University, during which time he was awarded the title of Master Clinician in the area of cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy. He has since taught at Dominican College, New York Medical College, and Long Island University in the areas of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Pathology, Diagnosis and Management.

In response to the COVID Pandemic of 2019, Dr. Greenspan started a daily Coronavirus prevention program and later, the COVID Rehabilitation & Recovery Lecture Series, a COVID-Specific Online Bootcamp for COVID Survivors and Long Haulers and in October of 2020, he and Marion Mackles, PT, opened the PWF's COVID Rehabilitation & Recovery Clinic at H&D Physical Therapy in NYC and produced and directed an award-winning film documenting their experiences, called Long Haul.

In addition to his role at the Center, Dr. Noah Greenspan is a New York State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider; a professional SCUBA Diving International Open Water Instructor, and underwater naturalist, with a passion for shark photography; a musician, artist and clothing designer under the moniker, Noah G Pop!
