PHOENIX, Jan. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- CEA Study Abroad is excited to announce their newest program destination—Amsterdam, Netherlands. This forward-thinking city is an exciting place for students to learn more about the world, themselves, and their subject matter of choice. Our university partner, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, offers all courses in English, making it possible for U.S. students to thrive regardless of their Dutch language skills.
"Amsterdam is a perfect study abroad destination for U.S. students!" says Dr. Jose B. Alvarez, CEA's Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and Initiatives. "It's known for being extremely open-minded, urban, and multicultural, not to mention one of the most English-language proficient cities in Europe. Student interest in Amsterdam has been growing since the 2013/2014 school year, with a 17% growth in study abroad enrollment between the 2014-15 and 2015-16 academic years. We're excited to respond to this interest by adding Amsterdam to our portfolio."
CEA chose to partner with VU Amsterdam because of its distinguished academic reputation and the range of courses available there. VU Amsterdam ranks in the top universities in the world and provides an academically challenging experience for the ambitious, hard-working study abroad student.
- CEA offers five program options at VU Amsterdam, including Business & Economics, STEM, Social Sciences & Humanities, Interdisciplinary Studies, and the Honors Program
- Approximately 14% of VU Amsterdam's student body is international, meaning CEA students will share classrooms with Dutch, American, and other international peers.
With 75 museums, over 300 annual festivals, and an internationally famous canal system, Amsterdam is a unique and culturally rich learning environment regardless of a student's major. The city's welcoming atmosphere, proximity to beautiful landscapes, and long history of artistic, intellectual, and technological achievement make it an ideal study abroad destination on the European continent.
CEA is now accepting applications for Fall 2019 programs in Amsterdam, with a deadline of March 30.
