Sobik's Subs was founded in 1969 by John and Beverley Sobik. The couple owned and operated a successful sub shop franchise on Edgewater Drive in Orlando called QP Sandwiches, but decided the time was right to open their own sub shop business with their sights set on franchising one day. The Sobiks opened their first Sobik's sandwich shop on Highway 436 in Altamonte Springs on July 15th, 1969 -- just days before man would walk on the moon and just weeks before Woodstock would start a cultural revolution. Today, Sobik's Subs has eight locations across Central Florida and is known as the best place for steak and cheese subs in the Orlando area.
To honor the anniversary, Sobik's Subs is holding a chain-wide celebration with incredible discounts the entire week of the anniversary, including 50¢ meatball and cheese subs on Monday, July 15th, $2.00 ham and cheese subs on Tuesday, and $5.00 steak and cheese subs on Friday.
