MILTON KEYNES, United Kingdom, June 16, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Whether it's for an after-work pint, a friendly catch up over drinks, or a classic pub lunch, going to the pub is a much beloved British pastime. Market Force polled the people to find out which UK pub brand is the favourite amongst consumers.
Which UK pub brand has ranked supreme? A panel of UK consumers have selected their favourite pub brands by participating in Market Force Information's 2023 Pub study. Just under 1,000 consumers were surveyed and asked about their most recent experience at a pub chain in the last 3 months. The study reveals who is the UK's top pub brand and why; spoiler alert, it wasn't a chain that won!
The study ranks 18 brands across a number of customer touchpoints including cleanliness, food and drink quality, service and value for money, as well as overall satisfaction and customer loyalty. The study also looks into consumers' preferences in visiting pubs chains vs locally owned pubs with the majority of consumers preferring a locally owned pub. In fact, the pub known as 'other' achieved the highest customer loyalty index (CLI) score of 4.4/5.
Looking at consumers opinion of brand image and company values, Brewdog came out on top with the highest approve rating but also the highest disapprove rating with JD Wetherspoon and O'Neill's sharing second place on approval ratings. Chain brands with the best CLI scores were JD Wetherspoon (4.3), Brewdog (4.2) and Loungers (4.2).
Understanding how well you're performing across these customer touchpoints is key, but even better is knowing how your competitors are doing so you can gain a competitive advantage. JD Wetherspoons won the majority of share of wallet, a measure of how many of the next 10 visits a brand will get from a patron. On Wallet Share 'Spoons' topped the charts at 54.8% over 7 percentage points higher than Greene King.
The full list of brands featured includes: All Bar One, Beefeater, Brewdog, Chef & Brewer, Fuller's Inns, Greene King, Hungry Horse, JD Wetherspoon, Loungers, Marstons, O'Neill's, Redcat, Revolution, Sizzling Pubs, Slug & Lettuce, Walkabout, and Yates and Young's.
