CICB's John O'Connor Elected NCCCO Commissioner and Named to the NCCCO Mobile Crane Written Exam Management Committee

ORLANDO, Fla. and HOUSTON, Jan. 14, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- John O'Connor, Career School Manager & Senior Instructor at Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau (CICB), Houston, TX, has been elected as a member of the Mobile Crane Written Exam Management Committee for the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO).

He succeeds Joe Bob Williams, Senior Instructor & Inspector, CICB, Houston, TX, who joined the NCCCO as a Commissioner in 1996. Mr. O'Connor's decades of experience in the crane and lifting industry made him the preeminent choice to join the NCCCO's 30-person team of commissioners.

"My role as an NCCCO Commissioner means I have the privilege of working with experienced and distinguished committee members from companies such as ExxonMobil and Kiewit, to mention just a few," said John O'Connor. "As a member of the Mobile Crane Written Exam Management Committee, I'm responsible for monitoring certification exams, suggesting revisions to testing procedures, and overseeing the work of item writers, amongst many other responsibilities."

O'Connor took up office at the close of the 49th Biannual Commissioners Meeting in October. His initial elected term is 3 years. Former Commissioner Joe Bob Williams, who was voted 2017 Top Trainer by Crane Hotline Magazine, stepped down from his position at the NCCCO at the same time as retiring from his role at CICB.
