Round Rock, Texas (PRWEB) July 23, 2013 -- Grab your pom-poms, don your pig tails and bring your “Go Team” attitude. The City of Round Rock and Round Rock Arts is cheering for National Dance Day at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 27 at Prete Main Street Plaza, 221 E. Main St. Everyone is invited to learn the National Dance Day routine from Sherry “Shamrock” Leetham at 9 a.m. or learn the routine online at http://www.dizzyfeetfoundation.com.
At 10 a.m., everyone will perform the routines together while being filmed. The video will be uploaded to the Dizzy Feet Foundation. All footage has the opportunity of being aired on the television show “So You Think You Can Dance.”
National Dance Day got its start on the popular television show “So You Think You Can Dance,” whose producer and Judge Nigel Lythgoe pushed efforts to have the day recognized by Congress. This grassroots campaign encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health and combat obesity.
Round Rock resident Leetham, founder of FIT 2 CHEER, is the inventor of The Weighted Pom Pom “PoundPoms™” and the creator of a new cheer dance aerobic class called CHEER CAMP. A certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor and an AFAA/ACE continuing education provider, she is a former collegiate cheerleader. She has been involved in dance and fitness for nearly 20 years and now combines her education and expertise into a unique perspective to advocate healthy lifestyle.
