Host Mike Rowe Does the Dirty Job of Recycling Soap to Save Lives at Clean the World's Global Headquarters in Orlando, Florida
ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 9, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Clean the World, a leader in global health dedicated to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) and global sustainability, will be featured on Discovery's five-time Emmy award nominated show, "Dirty Jobs." The show highlights the unsung heroes across the nation doing the essential dirty jobs that make civilized life for the rest of America possible. The season 10 premiere will air on December 11th at 8 PM ET on Discovery.
The episode stars host Mike Rowe as he does the dirty job of recycling soap with Clean the World's CEO and Founder, Shawn Seipler, and "Soap Whisperer" Carlos Anderson. Rowe learns about how Clean the World collects and recycles millions of pounds of soap from hotels around the world through its Hospitality Recycling Program in effort to lead a "global hygiene revolution" to combat hygiene-related illnesses around the world. The episode ends with the crew of Dirty Jobs piling into one of Clean the World's mobile showers to clean up after a hard day's work. Clean the World Foundation deploys mobile showers in cities across the country to help fight hygiene insecurity among the unsheltered population as part of their Fresh Start WASH & Wellness program.
"The dirty job of soap recycling saves lives and reduces the amount of waste that enters global landfills by significant amounts," says Shawn Seipler, CEO & Founder of Clean the World. "When I first started recycling soap out of my one-car garage in Orlando, Florida in 2009, I had no idea the impact collecting and recycling soap from the hospitality industry would have on millions of people around the world. The job itself is dirty, but the mission and the heart behind Clean the World in our fight to end hygiene insecurity is as pure and as clean as it gets."
Since 2009, Clean the World has been on a mission to save lives through the recycling and distribution of soap. The organization specializes in creating innovative impact products intended to make the world a better place. In addition to the Hospitality Recycling Program and Fresh Start WASH & Wellness Program, Clean the World also works with corporate partners to host Soap Saves Lives Box team building events, where employees come together and assemble hygiene kits, school kits, and comfort kits for distribution to individuals living in poverty or to families displaced from their homes due to natural disasters. These events are hosted at offices, in conference settings, and from the comfort of employees' homes.
