The Coalition for Crowdfunding American Jobs and Prosperity launched today to support the TRUMP Jobs Act, which incentivizes investment in small businesses through tax credits. The coalition believes the act will boost the economy and create jobs.
WASHINGTON, Jan. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Coalition for Crowdfunding American Jobs and Prosperity (CCAJP), a landmark alliance committed to unleashing the transformative potential of Regulation Crowdfunding (Reg CF), officially launched today, just one week following the President's inauguration. The coalition is actively engaging with policymakers to advance its legislative centerpiece, the Targeting Resources to Unleash Market Prosperity (TRUMP) Jobs Act, a proposal aimed at driving innovation, creating jobs, building wealth, and fostering economic growth through a simple yet bold new tax incentive.
The TRUMP Jobs Act would amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide a 50% tax credit for investments made under Reg CF, up to $1,000 annually ($2,000 for couples filing jointly). This measure is projected to create 1 million new jobs annually, generate $120 billion in economic activity, and deliver a net fiscal surplus of $8 billion per year.
A Proven Economic Driver
Since the implementation of Regulation Crowdfunding in 2016, over 8,500 companies have raised $2.2 billion from 2 million Americans, supporting more than 400,000 jobs and generating $7.5 billion in economic activity. Only US companies can raise funds using Regulation Crowdfunding and these companies demonstrate remarkable resilience and durability, with failure rates below 10% - far lower than the 75% failure rate of VC-backed startups and the 50% failure rate for small businesses (as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics over a five-year period).
Building Momentum in Congress
As part of its mission, the coalition is meeting with prospective sponsors in both the House and Senate to champion the TRUMP Jobs Act. With bipartisan appeal, the coalition believes this initiative will resonate with lawmakers who recognize and value entrepreneurs and small businesses as the backbone of the American economy.
"The TRUMP Jobs Act will empower everyday Americans to invest in small businesses, fostering innovation and driving growth nationwide," said Matt Venturi, CEO of ClearingBid, a fintech start-up that raised over $4.5 million using Reg CF in just a matter of weeks. "We're excited to share this vision and our success story with leaders in Congress."
Unified Support from Key Stakeholders
The coalition's diverse membership includes non-profit associations, economic policy groups, crowdfunding intermediaries, registered investment advisors, small business investors, and entrepreneurs.
"I've seen first-hand how Regulation Crowdfunding has already transformed access to capital for entrepreneurs -- and the TRUMP Jobs Act will amplify its impact exponentially," said Levi Brackman, CEO of Invown, a Reg CF Funding Portal. "This proven mechanism for boosting innovative companies will scale efficiently and small businesses and investors alike will benefit from these transformative opportunities."
Investors are equally enthusiastic. "Reg CF has allowed me to both support good American companies that I believe in, and to access promising companies in their earliest phase. That's when the upside potential is the greatest," said Devin Thorpe, an angel investor with the Impact Cherub Club. "The TRUMP Jobs Act could get more Americans into the habit of investing -- and into businesses that drive local economic growth."
Leadership from the Crowdfunding Professional Association (CfPA)
The Crowdfunding Professional Association (CfPA) is a key leader and supporter of the coalition. Jenny Kassan, the 2025 President of the CfPA, highlighted the importance of this initiative. "The coalition's engagement on policy represents a critical step forward for the crowdfunding industry," said Kassan. "The TRUMP Jobs Act has the potential to create jobs, fuel economic growth, and empower more Americans to share in the success of our free enterprise system."
