DERRY, N.H., July 27, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The computer science program CoderZ was named winner in the Best Coding and Computational Thinking Solution of 2021 as part of the annual SIIA CODiE Awards. The prestigious CODiE Awards recognize the companies producing the most innovative education technology products across the country and around the world.
CoderZ is a powerful, self-paced virtual learning platform for grades 4-12 that teaches computer science integration by gamifying NGSS and CSTA-aligned curriculum. Any teacher, even those without computer science expertise, can use CoderZ's proven approach, which uses virtual robots to bring instruction to life. Each CoderZ course develops interdisciplinary skills like problem-solving, collaboration, and grit as well as core knowledge in physics, geometry, literacy, and algebra. CoderZ also offers a professional development program that introduces instructors to the concepts of teaching computer science and computational thinking using an online tool.
The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software and digital content industries, announced the full slate of CODiE winners during an online winner announcement on June 23, 2021 in light of ongoing COVID-19 concerns.
Forty-five awards were given for products and services deployed specifically for education and learning professionals, including the top honor of the Best Overall Education Technology Solution.
A SIIA CODiE Award win is a prestigious honor, following rigorous reviews by expert judges including educators and administrators whose evaluations determined the finalists. SIIA members then vote on the finalist products, and the scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners.
"We are extremely honored to have received this recognition from our industry peers," said Ido Yerushalmi, CEO of CoderZ. "We are proud to be helping educators ignite students' passion for STEM through robotics, coding, and computer science and to be fostering the computational thinking skills those students will need for college and future careers."
"Congratulations to the 2021 Ed Tech CODiE Award winners," said SIIA President Jeff Joseph. "The COVID-19 pandemic reminds us of the importance of innovative Ed Tech products and services and this year's class takes a special place among the many amazing products recognized across the 35-year history of the CODiE Awards."
