HOBART, Tasmania, Dec. 9, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Cricket Tasmania have announced a partnership with Australian tech startup, Snackr, to manage food deliveries to member's seats during the KFC Big Bash League 10 season at Blundstone Arena commencing this week.
In an effort to keep patrons seated for covid safety, the BBL will utilise Snackr's cutting-edge mobile platform in a members-only trial. The app will enable members to order food from various stadium vendors and have it delivered directly to their seats. If the initial trial is a success, the service may be rolled out to the entire stadium.
After downloading the app, members can enter their seat codes and browse the menus of stadium food vendors available to them. They can then order food and beverages inside the app, much like they would using Uber Eats or Deliveroo. Snackr receives and routes orders through their proprietary delivery logistics platform and their team of runners make sure food ends up in the right hands.
Snackr was founded in 2019 by Perth-based founder, Matt Lim. The proprietary mobile app and delivery logistics platform was developed in conjunction with Australian app development company, DreamWalk. Initially scheduled for launch in March, Snackr hit a major roadblock in the form of carona virus. With crowds shut out of sporting venues for most of 2020, the Snackr launch was ultimately delayed.
The BBL season commencing this week will be Snackr's first major sporting event. "We are delighted to introduce Snackr at Blundstone Arena" says Matt Lim, the app's CEO and founder. "Hopefully this summer's Big Bash will be the first of many sporting events using Snackr in 2021".
Snackr is available for iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded for free via the relevant app stores. The KFC Big Bash League 10 season commences on Dec10, 2020 and runs through to Feb 6, 2021.
