(PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- In proactive preparation and immediate response to the Super Typhoon Haiyan, the business continuity plan of DDC Freight Process Outsourcing (FPO), is now well under way to guarantee clients the same high level of service that DDC FPO is known for.
In Review:
• On November 6, when the Filipino state weather bureau Pagasa placed 12 provinces in Visayas and Mindanao under Signal Number 1, DDC teams in Manila and Leyte began operating in disaster recovery mode with preemptive measures in place to secure our offices, backup power, Internet lines and manpower.
• By the evening of November 7, Haiyan was upgraded to Signal Number 4.
• Super Typhoon Haiyan made initial landfall in the Philippines at 4:40am on November 8, 2013.
• In its latest advisory, National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said the entire Samar, Bohol, Cebu and Leyte provinces, along with Panay and Negros islands, were cut off from the main power grid.
Today, DDC FPO's business continuity plan is already in motion, and Manila production capabilities are being maximized to compensate for the impact in Leyte.
The planning team in Manila is opening a designated space to host 500 new workstations complete with the necessary equipment to serve as the FPO transplant operation until the province of Leyte is back up and running. For an estimated 16 weeks, the 500 workstations will be filled with a combination of new hires from a pre-established pool of talent with billing experience (40 of which start as soon as Thursday, November 14), and a selected group of the Leyte staff that will be flown in as soon as possible, minimizing training and ramp-up times.
To ensure a seamless transfer, DDC FPO clients will receive hourly updates and in-depth daily conference calls as well as constant e-correspondence from both on-and-offshore teams for full disclosure about the effects of the typhoon, a detailed assessment of the current situation and how we will proceed into the future.
DDC FPO promises to provide clients with the most accurate, up-to-date information on a regular basis with nothing left to uncertainty. DDC's teams in the Philippines and United States will continue to deliver the highest quality performance and efficient TA time possible to all clients, regardless of circumstance.
