BEDFORD, Mass., Aug. 9, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Diversified Technologies, Inc. has introduced a new electrical power conversion technology for subsea power distribution that permits multiple charging stations along a cable on the ocean floor.
The PowerMod™ Subsea MVDC Power Distribution System converts directly at the ocean floor from 1 to 20 kV and can down convert at a charging station to 48 V or other required voltages, and is bi-directional for grid or loop configuration. Permitting the establishment of multiple charging stations located anywhere along a cable at any depth, the system eliminates the need to surface underwater drones (ROVs) for charging.
Allowing the run of a cable from shore or a ship to whatever length or depth is required, PowerMod™ Subsea MVDC Power Distribution System nodes were designed for extreme longevity and resilience with a 90% probability of operation for 25 years. These pressurized power conversion modules measure 18" dia. and can operate at depths down to 3,500 meters.
The PowerMod™ Subsea MVDC Power Distribution System is priced from $300,000. per node, depending upon configuration.
