Dr. Francesca Joseph, Former FDA Medical Officer, Office of Orphan Products Development, Joins NDA Partners
NDA Partners Chairman Carl Peck, MD, announced today that Francesca D. Joseph, MD, former Medical Officer in the FDA Office of Orphan Products Development (OOPD) and FDA Commissioner's Fellow in the Division of Cardiovascular Devices (CDRH), has joined the firm as an Expert Consultant.

Joseph, MD, former Medical Officer in the FDA Office of Orphan Products Development (OOPD) and FDA Commissioner's Fellow in the Division of Cardiovascular Devices (DCD), Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), has joined the firm as an Expert Consultant.
Dr. Joseph is a board certified pediatrician with expertise in pediatric therapies, clinical study design, humanitarian use devices, orphan designation, and pediatric trials. In addition to her career at FDA, she has worked in private practice and in emergency medicine at Children's National Medical Center (Washington DC). She is currently a Pediatrician in the Goldberg Center for Community Pediatric Health at Children's National Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences (Washington DC). She is a co-investigator in the National Capital Consortium for Pediatric Device Innovation (NCC-PDI) within The Sheikh Zayed Surgical Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation of Children's National Health System (Washington DC). This FDA-funded consortium is focused on accelerating the path to market for pediatric devices.

Dr. Joseph earned her medical degree from the State University of New York Stony Brook School of Medicine (Stony Brook, NY) and her bachelor's degree in biology from Bucknell University (Lewisburg, PA). She completed a Pediatric Internship and Residency at Children's National Medical Center and a Residency Fellowship in Public Policy from The George Washington University School of Public Health, Hirsh Program in Medicine and Health Policy.
