Dr. Jason Lowenstein, industry-leading scoliosis and spinal deformity surgeon, receives the 2018 NJ Favorite Kids' Doc award from New Jersey Family magazine.
MORRISTOWN, N.J., Dec. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Dr. Jason Lowenstein, MD—industry-leading scoliosis and spinal deformity surgeon—recently earned state-wide recognition as a patient-favorite provider of pediatric spine surgery. An eight-time recipient of the Vitals.com Patients' Choice Award and a three-time honoree of the Castle Connolly Top Doctor distinction, Dr. Jason Lowenstein will also join this year's ranks of "NJ Favorite Kids' Docs" award-winners.
The honor, which was tabulated by New Jersey Family magazine from a high-volume of reader submissions, will go to only 4 other pediatric spine surgeons in New Jersey. Dr. Lowenstein, who serves as the Director of Scoliosis and Spinal Deformity at Morristown Medical Center, also delivers his award-winning spine services from practice locations in Bridgewater, NJ and Sparta, NJ. He is the only pediatric spine surgeon to make the recipient list who also operates practice locations outside of Hackensack.
A founding member of the Advanced Spine Center, Dr. Lowenstein believes in evolving with the latest advancements in conservative and minimally invasive scoliosis treatment. From genetic testing to predict curve progression to spinal bracing, Dr. Lowenstein exhausts all non-surgical options before recommending his patients for surgery. When surgery is indicated, Dr. Lowenstein recruits high-tech visualization equipment to optimize his surgical outcomes:
"Using the latest technology, including 3D image-guided intraoperative navigation, we're able to offer minimally invasive options even for some of our most complicated and challenging cases," he explains.
For Dr. Lowenstein's patients, minimally invasive surgery also means smaller incision sizes, less post-surgical scarring, quicker recovery times, and overall better patient outcomes.
As 2019 approaches, Dr. Lowenstein plans to expand the Scoliosis & Spinal Deformity Department at Morristown Medical Center. An affiliate of the Atlantic Health System, Morristown Medical was named the #1 Regional Hospital in New Jersey by U.S. News & World Report.
In doing so, Dr. Lowenstein's primary goal will be to make technological advancements in scoliosis surgery more accessible to his patients:
"Scoliosis treatment continues to evolve and expand, including new bracing and therapy options as well as advancing growth modulation surgeries. Our goal is to offer all available options to our patients so that we can allow them to make informed decisions when choosing and formulating a collaborative treatment strategy."
By taking a multidisciplinary approach to spine care and sharpening his focus on patient advocacy, Dr. Lowenstein looks forward to ushering in another year of expansion and growth.
Dr. Jason Lowenstein specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques to reverse complex cases of adult and pediatric spinal deformity including scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis, spondylolisthesis, and more.
