Eighth Annual Maryland International Film Festival, Hagerstown Film Selections Have Been Made
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (PRWEB) March 07, 2019 -- The Eighth annual Maryland International Film Festival, Hagerstown has a stellar line up of 150 films from 16 countries around the world. The films range from features, shorts, documentaries, animation, and student films. MDIFF will also host exclusive VIP after parties after each night of screenings. The screenings will be held at five locations this year: The Historic Maryland Theatre, the Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce, the Washington County Free Library, the Grand Piano Ballroom, and the University of Maryland, Hagerstown campus.
MDIFF Festival Director, Tracie Hovey said, "This year's films submissions went above and beyond expectations. This festival continues to grow so quickly and we are elated that the filmmakers continue to trust us with their films and come out to support and network with the community and each other. The eighth annual Maryland International Film Festival-Hagerstown received more than 400 submissions, and the judges announced that over 150 films were selected. Opening night Friday, March 29th is taking place at the Maryland Theater. Other venues on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 30 and 31st include the Grand Piano Building, Alice Virginia & David E. Fletcher Library, the University of Maryland, Hagerstown, and the Chamber of Commerce. The after parties will be hosted at 28 South and Bulls and Bears. All films on Friday before 5 pm are free to the public.
