ISOA Welcomes New Interim Executive Director Major General James Lariviere
Vienna, VA (PRWEB) August 04, 2015 -- The International Stability Operations Association is fortunate to have Major General James Lariviere on board as the Association's leader. His distinguished background brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the stability operations industry community. Just retired from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve where he most recently served on the Joint Staff, MajGen Lariviere has extensive background in stability operations with service in Lebanon and Afghanistan as well as Commanding General of the 4th Marine Division. He also brings in-depth legislative expertise having served in a number of positions on the staff of the U.S. Congress including as Director of the House Veteran's Affairs Committee and as a Professional Staff Member on the House Armed Services Committee's Defense Policy Staff. He also worked in the private sector as Senior Public Policy Advisor for Holland and Knight, LLC and as a member of The Spectrum Group. He replaces Ado Machida who recently departed ISOA to pursue other opportunities.
Lariviere joins ISOA from a position as Deputy Director for Politico-Military Affairs (Africa), on the Joint Staff. He holds a Master's Degree in National Security Affairs from Georgetown University and a B.A. from The Citadel. He is a graduate of the Amphibious Warfare School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, the Air War College and U.S. Army Ranger School. His decoration include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star, and the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars.

MajGen Lariviere’s extensive leadership and management skills as well as his background in security and national defense will ensure ISOA remains the preeminent spokesman for the stability operations industry, providing value to ISOA"s current and future members and representing ISOA's member's interests to the executive and legislative branches, think tanks and academia. MajGen Lariviere will work to advocate and guarantee a memorable 10th Annual Summit in October.
