Faulkner Design Group Earns Five 2019 Silver Aurora Awards

Aura Four44, located in Grapevine, Texas, was awarded Best Multifamily Housing Community (up to 4 Stories For Rent). Designers kept the original industrial integrity of the historic neighborhood by creating a warehouse-inspired polished industrial style. Aura Four44 inspired the city's recently updated multifamily and mixed-use design standards manual which helps developers understand the city's vision for the future.
Lumen, located in Tysons, Virginia, was awarded Best On-the-Boards Mixed-Use or Multifamily Community. Scaling 865 feet above sea level, this towering 32-story property represents one of the highest points in the Washington Metropolitan area and one of the tallest buildings in the Commonwealth of Virginia, featuring immaculate rooftop amenities with impeccable views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Washington, D.C. With over 35,000 square feet of recreational space, the building was designed for resort-style hospitality and is seeking LEED Silver certification.
Atria Mount Pleasant, located in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, was awarded Best Service Enriched Senior Community (IL/AL/Memory Care). The design team was challenged to minimize the separation of Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care, while maximizing resident choices and autonomy. All residents and visitors enter through the same reception area, eliminating hierarchy in the community and promoting interaction between residents across all levels of care. Independent and Assisted Living share spaces including the Bistro, Clubroom, Wine Bar, and Wellness Suite, with multiple courtyards accessible through the connecting Grotto.
