FIFA Women's World Cup™ Trophy Makes First Trip to Toyota Stadium for FC Dallas' Match vs Minnesota United FC
U.S. Women's National Team forward Carli Lloyd will scarf the Lamar Hunt statue on Saturday, and the trophy will be on temporary display at the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
FRISCO, Texas, Aug. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup™ trophy will be on temporary display for a limited time prior to FC Dallas' match against Minnesota United FC presented by Metro by T-Mobile on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
This is the only time the trophy will be available for photos at the National Soccer Hall of Fame (https://www.nationalsoccerhof.com/) at Toyota Stadium until it returns later this year for its permanent installation in the National Soccer Hall of Fame where it will join the 1991, 1999 and 2015 Women's World Cup trophies.
To help commemorate the U.S. Women's National Team's fourth World Cup championship, USWNT forward Carli Lloyd will also be in attendance for FC Dallas' match vs Minnesota United FC. She will serve as the honorary scarfer of the Lamar Hunt statue prior to the match.
Lloyd will also take a penalty kick at halftime of the match. If she makes it, FC Dallas will donate $500 in her name to My Possibilities, a nonprofit that provides continuing education, vocational education and training, and job placement for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
