SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Independent cross-platform games developer and publisher, Fifth Column Games, along with USA Network (https://www.usanetwork.com/), creative agency Ralph Interactive (https://ralphandco.com), Producer Roxanne Paredes and Writer Jeff McKibben won a 2020 Emmy award for "Outstanding Interactive Extension Of A Linear Program - 2020" on Sunday, September 17, 2020 (https://www.emmys.com/bios/fifth-column-games). This is the first Emmy nomination and win for the San Francisco-based games studio. Other nominees in the category were Netflix's Stranger Things' "Scoops Ahoy: Operation Scoop Snoop" and HBO's Westworld's "Free Will Is Not Free Interactive Experience."
Fifth Column Games' COO, Mike Fahmie, loved having the opportunity to work on a game where the "little, obscure details were the focus" rather than a fun thing to add.
"We really appreciate the recognition for the time and effort we spent to make sure it was perfect," he stated. "What impressed me the most was the community of solvers the game brought together from the show, and how they worked tirelessly month after month towards the solve across message boards and chat rooms."

Fans of the USA Network television show, Mr. Robot, including members of Reddit's "ARG Society," teamed together for months to reach the end game content. Hints and breadcrumbs over the course of season four of the television series led to a series of puzzles and ciphers which eventually unlocked fun content about the television series and its characters. The puzzles were not always apparent, so even to find the puzzle, much less solve it, would require multiple skill sets and educational backgrounds. The first episode of season four aired on October 6, 2019, and the ARG was solved on August 19, 2020.
