Leading remote career service sees 20% increase in remote jobs
BOULDER, Colo., Jan. 10, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- FlexJobs, the leading career service specializing in remote and flexible jobs, today releases its 10th annual list of the Top 100 Companies to Watch for Remote Jobs in 2023. The list is based on an analysis of approximately 58,000 companies and their remote job posting histories in the FlexJobs database between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022. These 100 companies had the highest number of remote job openings throughout 2022. A "remote job" is defined as a professional-level job that allows the worker to work from home either entirely or part of the time.
Having a choice of work environment and location is now a key factor for the majority of job seekers when evaluating new career opportunities. According to FlexJobs, 97 percent of workers want some form of remote work.
"As leaders in the remote job marketplace, we are thrilled to once again shine a light on the employers that have made remote hiring a priority for their businesses," said Sara Sutton, Founder and CEO of FlexJobs. "As it was when we first created the Top 100 list a decade ago, our goal in identifying these remote-friendly employers is to help job seekers connect to remote career opportunities and to celebrate the companies championing for a more flexible future of work. Even amid current economic uncertainty and challenges, the continued interest and investment in remote work has created a healthy, robust marketplace for remote career opportunities," Sutton concluded.
About the Top Companies for Remote Jobs
FlexJobs saw a 20 percent increase in the number of remote job listings in 2022 over 2021, compared to 12 percent growth the previous year. The threshold for employers to make FlexJobs' Top 100 list has increased from previous years, meaning companies had to have a higher number of remote job listings in order to earn the distinction. Companies on the list span a variety of industries, such as biotech, business services, education, finance, healthcare, insurance, retail, software development, staffing and recruiting, and travel.
Recognized for providing "unparalleled" job flexibility and work-life balance to its home-based talent, LiveOps earned the number one spot on the 2023 Top 100 list, hiring for various remote jobs in areas like medical and health, customer service, sales, and insurance. Working Solutions and TTEC took second and third places on the list.
Twenty-eight companies appeared on the annual list for the first time, showcasing the diverse body of employers embracing remote work, such as Airbnb, Allstate, DoorDash, Reddit, and Lyft.
At the same time, seven companies have made FlexJobs' list of top remote employers each year since 2014. CVS Health, Elevance Health, Kelly, PAREXEL, SAP, Stride, Inc., and UnitedHealth Group are great examples of long-time proponents of remote work.
Additional well-known brands such as Amazon, American Red Cross, PNC, and Williams-Sonoma also earned the distinction of being a top company for remote jobs.
Kelly, fifth on the list, recognizes the key role remote work continues to play in shaping their dynamic workplace and recruiting efforts. According to Chief People Officer Amy Bouque, "Kelly has offered work-from-home options for more than a decade, and we're proud to be among this group of elite companies who are committed to providing flexible work arrangements. Remote and hybrid work enhances our ability to recruit top talent and contributes to a vibrant, productive workplace where unique work styles are supported," Bouque said.
Literably, also ranking on this year's list, values the role of remote work in supporting their company mission. "We rely on a dedicated team to achieve our mission of delivering fast, accurate, and actionable reading assessment data to teachers, and our partnership with FlexJobs has allowed us to fulfill this promise to schools around the country," said Chris Harty, VP of Customer Success at Literably. "Our team members who come to us through FlexJobs enjoy the flexibility of working on their own schedule, while contributing to the effort to support reading outcomes for children," Harty added.
