Foley’s NY Pub & Restaurant’s 10th Anniversary Celebration to Feature Bleacher Creature Bald Vinny and Other Guest Bartenders
(PRWEB) January 14, 2014 -- Foley’s NY Pub & Restaurant (18 W. 33rd St.), New York’s premier baseball bar, celebrates its first decade on Thursday, Jan. 23rd, 2014, with a "party with a purpose" from 6 to 9 PM. For the first hour, owner Shaun Clancy will make a rare appearance behind the bar with his son, Ryan, who will be bartending in New York for the first time. From 7 to 9 PM, famed Yankee Stadium Bleacher Creature Bald Vinny & Friends will be the guest bartenders.
All of the tips at the bar and a percentage of Foley’s revenue on January 23rd will help the family of Carlos and Ashley Rivera, whose 5-year-old daughter Sophia has been diagnosed with multiple tumors in her brain and on her spine.
"Since her diagnosis, the people in the Yankees Empire group have jumped into action and sought to find a way to help," said Vinny Milano (AKA Bald Vinny), who leads the famous Section 203 roll call at all Yankees home games. "I'm inviting my fellow Bleacher Creatures, along with players who have been part of the roll call, and others to help us raise money for a very sick little girl."
Over the years, numerous former and current athletes have participated in fundraising events at Foley's, including Brian Cashman, David Robertson, David Cone, Nick Swisher, Tommy John, Steve Garvey, Jeremy Hefner, Dillon Gee, LaTroy Hawkins, Joe McEwing, and David Wright.
Since 2004, Foley’s has raised nearly $300,000 to benefit charities such as George Martin's "a Journey for 9/11," David Robertson's High Socks for Hope, the David Wright Foundation, Defending The Blue Line, Ed Randall's Fans for the Cure, MSG's Garden of Dreams, The Jimmy Fund, Tug McGraw Foundation, Umps Care, USO, Wounded Warriors, and Hurricane Sandy relief efforts, among others.
A lifelong Yankee fan, Vinny Milano found his home in Section 39 (Row B, Seat 18) in 1998 and has averaged 75 Yankee games per season since. In 2002, inspired by past successes in the garment industry, Vinny created and marketed the first ever Official Bleacher Creature t-shirt. In 2005, he was one of four cast members in the YES Network’s baseball reality show “Ultimate Roadtrip”, in which he attended all 162 Yankees games. He is best known for leading the pre-game "roll calls" before each home game in the Bronx.
