For Fall, The Territory Ahead Updates Long-Running Leather Jacket Collection with a Mix of Classic and Modern Designs
From moto and flight jackets to shirt jacs and vests, The Territory Ahead's FW19 leather collection runs the gamut from timeless to bold and fresh.
BOSTON, Sept. 17, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- While rooted in California style and comfort, men's apparel brand The Territory Ahead branched out into leather 25 years ago. As with all Territory Ahead products, quality, versatility, and longevity, more so than trends, were at the forefront initially, and that approach hasn't changed. Going into Fall 2019, The Territory Ahead is debuting a new leather lineup – one mixing classic and modern silhouettes with investment-quality materials, including full-grain leather, lamb and goatskin suede, Napa, and nubuck, tanned and treated to accent the grain and texture.
Among the newcomers, The Mythmaker enhances a timeless moto style with medium-weight, lightly aged goatskin leather in a matte finish and features several details, such as a snap collar, blue camouflage-pattern jacquard lining, and a bi-swing back for a greater, more natural range of motion. In the same direction, The Flyover presents a streamlined version of the A-2 flight jacket. Constructed out of medium-weight, lightly pebbled and distressed lambskin, it stays true to form with a snap-down collar, rib-knit cuffs, and grommets for ventilation.
In an off-the-beaten-path direction true to The Territory Ahead brand, the Road to Napa Shirt Jac starts with a classic workman's silhouette, complete with a snap placket. Midweight, tumbled, and somewhat distressed Napa sheep leather then stands out with elbow patches and whipstitch details. The Rugged Glamper Vest, meanwhile, brings puffer-type attributes to chrome-tanned goatskin suede, including a quilted texture, light polyfill insulation, and a high neck. The Territory Ahead finishes it off with contrasting camouflage-patterned lining.
Three core items have also returned this season. The Falcon Bluff jacket – in leather, insulated suede, and new nubuck – remains a cornerstone with a lightly aged appearance, multiple pockets, and a stand collar with a bendable, shape-maintaining wire. The Crow's Journey – based on the Falcon Bluff – is also back with solid black, non-distressed cowhide displaying subtle graining. Completing the trifecta, the Milestone Vintage Leather Jacket also starts with heavyweight cowhide, which is then distressed and specially treated for a lived-in look and feel, and features a point collar and burnished details.
"The styling has evolved a bit, along with fit, but one thing that has never wavered is the quality and craftsmanship," said Vice President of Design and Merchandising Randy Pyles about the new collection. "Just about every guy that gets a leather jacket raves about it, and the beautiful thing about our leather is that it improves with age."
