Longtime federal official and noted attorney joins employment-based labor shortage resolution provider as a consultant
GREENVILLE, S.C., March 31, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- BDV Solutions, a tech-enabled, turnkey provider of employment-based immigration services to foreign nationals and employers whose solutions help resolve labor shortages across the United States, today announced that Léon Rodríguez has partnered with the firm as a consultant.
"As we help a growing number of clients navigate the immigration process, Léon will be an invaluable addition to our team alongside other notable public figures, including David Wilkins, former U.S. ambassador to Canada, as well as a host of other former U.S. diplomats and federal government officials," said Chris Richardson, COO and general counsel for BDV.
From 2014 to 2017, Rodriguez served as the director of US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), following a more than a two-decade career as a prosecutor, law firm partner, and government agency leader. During his tenure as director of USCIS, he led the implementation of the Obama administration's core immigration priorities, including the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy, policies to improve U.S. business access to high-skilled workers, and the growth of the U.S. Refugee Admissions program at a time of unprecedented worldwide displacement.
As director, Rodriguez oversaw the efforts of approximately 19,000 workers in 250 worldwide locations. He also oversaw the modernization of USCIS's business, particularly the digital transformation of several of USCIS' core business processes. He received a B.A. from Brown University and a J.D. from Boston College Law School.
BDV Solutions helps source employment for foreign nationals via the federal government's EB-3 green card program. BDV helps place these employees in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, restaurant franchise groups, cleaning and maintenance companies, warehousing, distribution centers, and food preparation.
EB-3 Unskilled Visa is a visa preference category for U.S. employment-based permanent residency that requires a sponsoring employer and is intended for businesses that are unable to find U.S. workers for unskilled positions. The program was established by Congress in 1990 to help address persistent labor shortages and to offer prospective foreign immigrants a pathway to legally work in the U.S.
