FREDERICK, Md., Nov. 7, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Colonial Jewelers, a fourth generation provider of fine jewelry and jewelry services to the local downtown retail industry, will be hosting The Pink Ribbon Gala on November 11, 2022 at 7 O'Clock in the evening at Dutch's Daughter. Join us for this year's celebration of life and hope at Dutch's Daughter in Frederick, MD. Dance and sing along to the high-energy performance of Flying Ivories Dueling Pianos. Take a chance to win a beautiful diamond in Frederick's only Diamonds in Champagne Contest, bid on unique and exciting silent auction items and enjoy a Surf and Turf cocktail buffet and open bar provided by Dutch's Daughter. Tickets are limited and all proceeds benefit the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund for the early detection and treatment of breast cancer in our community.
Patty and Jeff Hurwitz, co-owners of Colonial Jewelers, started the Fund in 1999 after Patty's diagnosis with breast cancer. Patty says, "After my diagnosis and treatment in Baltimore, I wanted to provide the very best technology and services for treating breast cancer patients right here in Frederick, so they didn't have to go "down the road" like I did. I realized that our jewelry business could afford a unique opportunity to raise money for the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund; our original effort was a black tie Silent Auction event held at Colonial Jewelers each year. Those events were very successful, but over the years, the effort has grown to include a Pink Ribbon 5K and Pink Ribbon Gala along with other community efforts. To date we have raised over $2.6 million and all the money raised stays local for the benefit of breast cancer patients right here at home. I'm glad we are in a business and a community that gives us a chance to give back in this meaningful way. We are so grateful to the Frederick community for their support."
