MILLBROOK, N.Y., Jan. 14, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- 17a-4, LLC is sharing a free Twitter capture service for state and local government clients that need to adhere to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Title 5 Section 552. Employing Microsoft's Power Automate (Flow) workflows, Tweets can be collected and sent via email or delivered to a SharePoint Online library. Compliance policies can then be applied to the tweets and governments can monitor ongoing activity, including retweets.
State and local governments leverage Twitter to keep residents aware of emergency situations such as fires, hurricanes or accidents. Twitter is a powerful communication tool for distributing real-time communication but, as such, it is subject to retention requirements. DataParser provides capture software for state and local governments to archive many types of messaging and collaborative content. This new Twitter service provides an easy means for Tweets from a specific handle to be either captured into a SharePoint Online library or converted into an email and sent to an email account which then may be easily archived in accordance with appropriate regulations.
"Twitter is an exceptional tool for emergency and other governmental services, but still these are subject to retention regulations and must be produced in response to FOIA requests," offers Douglas Weeden, Director of Compliance Services at 17a-4 LLC. "Often, there is a question as to the exact wording of a Tweet and timing of when it was tweeted to the community. This free workflow provides a simple, easy way for governments to capture tweets."
