Freescale Cup Winners Announced for SAE International 2014 Convergence
WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) November 05, 2014 -- Winners have been announced for the Freescale Cup Competition, which was held Oct. 21-22 during SAE 2014 Convergence in Detroit.
The Freescale Cup is an autonomous, intelligent race car competition in which teams are challenged to build, program, and race a model car around a track for speed. The fastest car to complete the track without derailing, is the winner.
The winners included:
1st Place: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles – Tom Pruett
2nd Place: Bosch –Rajit Jayachandran & Nidhin Rajan
3rd Place: TRW – Amanda Mohan, Cory Shirts, Stephan Leuschner & John Rotondo
The autonomous cars require:
• Embedded software programming and basic circuit creation using Freescale parts included in the entry kit.
• Students/employees to create motor control hardware and software to propel and steer their intelligent car
• Interfacing with the kit's camera to navigate the race course by following the guide lines.
