COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 31, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Victoria (Tori) Akin, business analyst at FST Logistics, was recognized today by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine as a recipient of the 2022 Pros to Know award. This award recognizes outstanding executives whose accomplishments offer a roadmap for other leaders looking to leverage supply chain for competitive advantage. Akin was selected as a top winner; the publication received over 360 nominations for industry professionals, which was the most to date.
Akin has been with FST Logistics since 2014, when she started as a customer service representative and was eventually promoted into a lead role. This experience in customer service enabled Akin to grow her career within the company. Now as a business analyst, she is instrumental in identifying process improvement opportunities, which allows FST Logistics to operate more efficiently. Akin serves on a larger team of business analysts that are charged with driving overall process improvements for the business.
"It's important to recognize the contributions of our employee-owners and the overall impact they make on our business each and every day," said Zak Hancock, chief operations officer. "Tori understands the operations of our business and helps our teams make decisions quickly and efficiently. In today's supply chain environment, those operational improvements make the difference."
Akin's contributions to the company have enabled multiple departments to implement real changes that have resulted in significant cost savings and reductions in inefficiencies. She has spearheaded process improvements with the company's billing department and information technology team. Outside of the office, Akin remains active on the company's Pelotonia team as a cyclist, raising thousands of dollars for cancer research that occurs in the Central Ohio community. These achievements were recognized by Supply & Demand Chain Executive.
"When I look back at past Pros to Know winners, I see a lot of individuals who accomplished a lot of great achievements. But, this year's winners are reinventing what it means to be a supply chain professional. This year's winners are intuitive, adaptive, and so super smart, and continue to push the envelope when it comes to everything supply chain-related," says Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics.
