Galley's Food Production Software Earns Rare Gold User Experience Awards
Food businesses tend to run on gut intuition--not precise data--because back-of-house software is often poorly designed and burdensome for chefs. Galley's new food production software was recently awarded two gold medals for user experience in San Diego's ADDYS competition.
SAN DIEGO, May 8, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Commercial kitchens are finally getting smart. Traditionally, business owners have relied on intuition and gut feeling to run their businesses—much to their financial demise. Software that attempts to infuse data-driven decision making into restaurants has been limited to poorly repurposed accounting software, not something chefs want to use. Until now.
Created by Galley Solutions and designed in partnership with MJD Interactive, Galley recently earned two gold awards at the annual San Diego American Advertising Awards, a prestigious design competition, for 'User Experience' and 'B2B Mobile Website'.
Ian Christopher, Co-Founder of Galley Solutions, explains: "Restaurants that try using back-of-house software end up quitting because it just adds more complexity for chefs, who are already busy and stressed. We knew that chefs had to love our platform, not just owners."
"User experience is a core part of what we're working on, and we've always thought usability as one of our greatest strengths, but it's nice to be acknowledged that we're doing so well here."
Galley's design will progress to the regional competition and, if awarded again, will advance to the national stage later this year.
