QUINCY, Mass., Oct. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Granite Telecommunications, LLC, a provider of communications solutions to businesses and governmental agencies throughout North America, announced today that the company has surpassed one of its 2020 fiscal goals by exceeding $1.55 billion in annualized revenue. In recognition of the hard work that achieving this milestone has taken, the company is proceeding with the pledge it made before the Covid-19 pandemic struck to issue over $1 million in bonuses to all teammates allocated equally.
Granite teammates achieved this goal despite the unprecedented challenges affecting its customers, which include multisite retailers, hospitality companies, restaurant chains, financial service companies and health care companies. Granite's own 2,278-strong work force was not spared either, having to switch quickly to a predominantly remote-work environment at its Quincy-MA headquarters as well as most of its nine regional operating centers. Helping Granite's customers to maintain critical voice and data infrastructure during these extraordinarily trying times is what Granite's teammate were called to do. And they came through, continuing to support customers – many in need of even more assistance and savings – as well as rolling out new products and solutions to suit the rapidly changing circumstances.
While others have reduced headcounts and salaries to control costs, Granite has maintained its teammates, without furloughs, layoffs or salary reductions. To the contrary, the company has begun hiring again, having already hired over 100 teammates and looking to hire another 100 in 2020. For achieving the fiscal milestone, Granite will pay a $500 special bonus to all teammates employed at the start of the calendar year and partial amounts for teammates hired since then.
"When times are tough and our customers needed us most, we answered the bell for them," said Granite CEO Rob Hale. "Maintaining and right-sizing products and services, and working closely with our customers to ensure their essential voice and data services needs were met. I could not be more proud of our team."
Granite has earned numerous awards and recognition for its work place and career opportunities, including a Top Charitable Contributor by the Boston Business Journal and a South Florida Tops Workplaces for 2020. The company was one of nine companies selected to provide next generation voice and data services under the General Service Administration's $50 billion EIS contract and Granite has already won more than 20 EIS awards.
