SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 4, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ --Today, Guardians Collective, an early childhood education (ECE) platform to connect families and educators, has announced a $3.5 million seed investment round led by Reach Capital with participation from Impact America Fund, Gary Community Ventures, and others.
Founded in 2020, Guardians Collective is a messaging platform that connects parents of children ages 12 months to 4 years-old with early childhood educators to find information, help, and advice in a safe, anonymous setting. Families are organized in Circles of 4-6 participants based on location and child's age, and each Circle is assigned an Educator, who creates research-based, developmentally appropriate activities for families to try and share within their small groups.
"We created Guardians Collective for the simple reason that early childhood educators should be available and accessible to families even if they can't enroll their kids in formal day-cares," said Saurabh Kamalapurkar, founder and CEO of Guardians Collective. "No matter what our social or economic status might be, we all have one thing in common: hope for our children. The role of Guardians Collective is to remove barriers between families and resources so that hope can blossom."
According to the Center for American Progress, more than half of American families don't have access to an early childhood educator because they can't afford the cost, which is creating a major child care crisis. To help solve this problem, Guardians Collective uses a sliding-scale pricing model so that qualified assistance is accessible to any family regardless of income. The service is currently available in English, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish, and serves families across the U.S., including Detroit, New Orleans, Alaska, the Navajo Nation, Oklahoma, and California's Central Valley.
"Reach Capital is proud to back Guardians Collective," said Chian Gong, partner at Reach Capital. "We see relationships at the heart of learning and view Guardians Collective's educator-led parenting Circles as a new learning model that dramatically increases access to early childhood educators. Beyond scalability, there's also something incredibly powerful about the way Guardians Collective allows parents to relate to one another and provides the care modern families need today."
The Guardians Collective app is currently in beta. Download the app via Google Play or the App Store to be added to the waitlist. Visit http://www.guardianscollective.com to learn more.
