Hacker Noon Announces The #Noonies: The Tech Industry's Greenest Awards
With a community of over 8k+ writers and traffic ranked by Alexa to be in the top 5K of all websites worldwide, hackernoon.com is excited to announce the launch of the Noonies--an opportunity for the world to vote on what matters in tech.
EDWARDS, Colo., July 17, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The world's most independent tech publication, Hacker Noon—where hackers start their afternoons, has partnered with Stream, to present the inaugural Hacker Noon Awards, The #Noonies 2019.
"The Noonies! It's time to vote on what matters in tech. Year after year these will serve as the definitive, international and somewhat democratic acknowledgment of all the best and worst people and/or products in technology today," someone overheard CEO David Smooke saying in an All-Hands meeting on Zoom recently.
Divided across Hacker Noon's three editorial categories—General Technology, Crypto and Blockchain, and Software Development, there are a total of 50 Noonies up for grabs this year, including awards like: Most Promising Fintech; Best Open Source Project; Defining Crypto Moment of the Year; Best Blockchain Award; Product Manager of the Year; Technology Writer of the Year; and the 60 Over 60 Awards.
You can vote every day from today until August 16th, so go ahead and set a reminder to exercise your daily right to declare the best and worst of the world's technology industry. The winners will be announced on August 21st.
"We are excited to partner with Hacker Noon on this important initiative for the tech industry in 2019," said Thierry Schellenbach, founder and CEO of Stream. "It's been an exciting period for Stream with the launch of Chat and the activity feed components for iOS/Swift—we feel like partnering with Hacker Noon in recognition of their contribution to the tech industry is a natural fit."
"The launch of the Noonies coincides with the upcoming launch of Hacker Noon 2.0's tech publishing platform, signalling our move from being just a publishing company to also becoming a software company," said Smooke. "Much like this is the first version of our publishing platform, this is also the first version of our annual awards; and we're excited about this experiment in publicly recognizing both the community members, readers, and contributing writers who make Hacker Noon the best place for tech professionals to publish; as well as giving us all a good forum in which to up and/or downvote the brands, products and apps we all use to build things every day."
