Innovative A.I. Technology Startup "Travel Labs" Raises $500k
Minneapolis based Travel Labs has raised $500,000 to engineer the future of business travel in the workplace. Replicating the personalized coordination and touch-less organization of an executive assistant, Travel Lab's A.I. software called "Tempore" reduces the unpleasant and complex act of arranging business travel to just a single click.
MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Innovative A.I. tech startup Travel Labs, Inc. has closed a $500,000 round of Pre-Seed funding.
"We've been asking ourselves a fundamental question, 'Why do business travelers still book trips?'" mused Travel Labs' Co-founder, and CEO, Parker Schlank. "When you think about it, the whole act of going to websites to research flights, book overnight accommodations, and arrange for ground transportation, is time consuming, frustrating, and well... archaic."
On a mission to streamline the process required to book business travel, the Travel Labs team has spent the last several months developing their A.I. software solution Tempore. The Latin word for time, Tempore focuses on reinventing the traditional business travel workflow.
"While there are many travel sites, and countless travel apps collecting dust in the app store, very few cater specifically to the business traveler… and those that do are known to spark ire among frequent travelers" Schlank stated. "There's actually a whole employee persona out there today that doesn't have to book trips… they have executive assistants and coordinators that take care of all their travel for them. If you can imagine software designed to put THAT type of user experience into the hands of every single traveler, then you would have Tempore."
Travel Labs ambitious vision involves engineering what they call an "artificially intelligent profile engine" which understands a business traveler's preferences, wants, needs, and desires. While they are staying relatively tight-lipped around the specifics, Schlank revealed "Our thesis is that business travel is patterned, and thus predictable. We believe by harnessing the power of user data, we can completely eliminate the need to book trips altogether… and we're introducing several new and unique interfaces to accomplish that objective."
Tempore is designed not only to make arranging travel quick and painless for employees, it also intends to help companies reduce wasteful travel expenditures. For example, the majority of today's employees frequently admit to booking their trips at the last minute. Often not entirely to blame, contemporary professionals are so inundated with tasks and requests that they frequently forget to arrange travel for upcoming meetings until the eleventh hour. Travel Labs believes their technology will be particularly appealing to this corporate audience and cites building specific feature sets to allow entire organizations to utilize their platform.
A member of Beta, a Minnesota-based incubator, Travel Labs caught the attention of several angel investors who share in the frustration around the current state of business travel technology. Originally targeting $400,000 in initial capital, Travel Labs secured their round, plus an additional $100,000 from investors passionate about their cause.
Companies, and individual travelers, who are interested in gaining complementary access to Tempore's private pilot program (expected to kick off in early 2019) can sign up at https://tempore.com/beta
Schlank closed by saying "Our A.I. booking functionality is just the beginning of a strategic vision, one which includes upgrading a traveler's on-trip experience, reinventing their expense management, and so much more. Travel Labs has made it our mission to engineer the future of business travel in the workplace."
