According to a criminal complaint filed on April 7 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, Multani, along with Parampreet Singh, 55, of Davis, and Ranvir Singh, 38, of Sacramento, allegedly organized several drug deals with a Canadian undercover officer involving multiple kilograms of cocaine, heroin, opium, and ketamine between October 2020 and March 2021. The case resulted from a drug trafficking investigation that began in August 2020 and involved the DEA, FBI, and Homeland Security Investigations as well as Canada's York Regional Police, the Placer County Special Investigations Unit, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. According to the complaint, in addition to the United States and Canada, the defendants' connections are also believed to extend to Germany, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Mexico.
