Club, restaurants, croquet court and fitness center open as construction continues on additional residences in Atlanta's historic neighborhood
ATLANTA, Sept. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The first residents are moving into Peachtree Hills Place, the residential community developed by Isakson Living for those 55 and older, with concierge-level services and social activities rivaled in the finest clubs.
In September, The Terraces at Peachtree Hills Place, opens with four levels of care and a powerhouse on-site medical team.
Located in the Peachtree Hills neighborhood in the heart of Buckhead, one of Atlanta's most charming and historic neighborhoods, more than 100 homes are now occupied at Peachtree Hills Place, and the centerpiece Club is operating two full-service restaurants and a fitness center while construction continues on additional residences.
"We're celebrating not just the opening of our doors but also how we've created an uplifting, active and inspiring place for people to call home in one of Atlanta's most desirable neighborhoods," said Andy Isakson, founder and managing partner of Isakson Living – and a new resident of Peachtree Hills Place himself with his wife.
Built on 20 acres, Peachtree Hills Place will have 197 condos in five, four-story buildings and 12 custom-built, single-family homes. Only 27 homes remain for sale at Peachtree Hills Place. The Terraces will have another 85 homes for assisted living and skilled nursing, and has just begun accepting reservations.
The Terraces will offer four levels of care: assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation. The Terraces is built around the "household model." Seven distinct households at the Terraces enable Members needing various levels of physical as well as cognitive help to live with other Members with similar ability and cognition. Each household will have its own dining room and kitchen where meals are prepared to order by one of seven designated personal chefs and homemakers. Households also have their own living and social areas as well as outdoor space.
More important than the physical components of the household is the manner in which care and support are offered. In each household, care-partners are trained to get to know the Members they serve and their families to create an environment and set of engagements they can relate to.
Understanding one's own emotions as well as having an emotional connection with Members is key. "Our model teaches us how to connect with people emotionally," Isakson said. "And that's really the goal of our entire community. The social and emotional bonds we're developing at Peachtree Hills Place and The Terraces is what makes our community a home." This concept in particularly true for those living with dementia. The concept is that persons living with dementia may lose some of their abilities but their emotions remain intact.
The concept of Peachtree Hills Place was inspired by Isakson's difficulty finding a place for his own aging parents. A solution was needed for a growing niche of the population who desired the same lifestyle they had achieved as professionals and community leaders so they could age-in-place. His goal was to create tasteful homes in an amenity-rich community, empowering residents to continue living vibrant lives in a warm and secure setting, with wellness and care continuum access a few steps away.
Isakson went on a journey over many years and miles of research. "We visited more than 75 senior living facilities, as well as resorts and clubs around the world, to study best practices in senior living and hospitality. What we learned is that it's all about the people and the personal connection we're creating," Isakson said.
The research led him to develop his first senior living community, Park Springs in Stone Mountain, which attracted more than 600 Members and has been recognized with multiple awards for design, lifestyle and resident satisfaction. The second is Peachtree Hills Place, an unprecedented model of carefree home ownership for those 55 and older. Amenities include an art studio, a community garden, a full fitness center, an executive chef and a social director.
Peachtree Hills Place also has two regulation-sized croquet courts, a game Isakson learned in his research is popular with many Atlantans who retreat to Highlands, N.C. for the summer. He added a pétanque court near the entrance so that the nearby neighbors could participate in the French game Isakson discovered on his travels.
