Following the death of his wife, Intelligence Officer Howard Hamilton returns to Orchard Police Department only to become embroiled in a political intrigue and a multiple murder
QUEEN CREEK, Ariz., May 10, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- After the release of "Cowards, Crooks and Warriors" followed by "Twenty-Three Minutes," J.C. De Ladurantey takes the reader through the workdays of intense police work without the brutality, racism and use of force issues unnecessarily portrayed in the new media with the release of "Available Time: A Howard Hamilton Ride-Along" (published by iUniverse).
Howard Hamilton is an average police officer in the town of Orchard Hill. He loves his work and family and sometimes in that order, but most of the time, his wife and kids come first. Then, he faces a personal tragedy of enormous proportions, is reassigned to a new position fraught with political intrigue and yet continually challenges himself to go back to the streets on occasion to defeat evil.
"Policing in many communities is not always pretty. It can be challenging to face armed suspects, be compassionate with a victim or not understand why people behave the way they behave, all in the same shift. However, it is not necessarily fraught with riots, use of force, shootings or other forms of violence. 'Available Time' sees the nitty gritty, but our hero is an average guy, not a Jack Reacher, Mitch Rapp or other mercenaries portrayed in today's fiction. What Howard Hamilton sees is what occurs on a daily basis in many communities that are immune from the ravages of the media," De Ladurantey says.
When asked what he wants readers to take away from the book, De Ladurantey answers, "Readers of the 'Howard Hamilton Ride-Along Series' need to see the everyday side of police work, the variety of experiences officers face on a daily basis and how they interrelate with their everyday lives."
