Personal injury attorneys Kelley Johnson, Nicholas Tessener, and Juliana Vergara joined eminent domain attorney Brian Lagesse on the firm's list of attorneys this year.

Brian Lagesse started at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in April 2020. As an eminent domain lawyer, he fights hard to defend his clients' rights for just compensation when the government takes their property. Prior to law school, he worked at one of the largest Department of Defense aerospace contractors, and he continues to rely on his analytical approach to problem-solving as he practices eminent domain law. He received his Master of Laws from Duke University School of Law, his Juris Doctor from Regent University, and his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University.

Juliana Vergara Duque
Personal injury attorney Juliana Vergara Duque joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in June 2020. Originally from Columbia, she is fluent in both Spanish and English and has a passion for helping the vulnerable in our community navigate the legal system. Juliana was an accomplished participant in many activities and associations while at law school. She received her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law and graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology.

M. Kelley Solomon Johnson
In August 2020, M. Kelley Solomon Johnson, a personal injury attorney, joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin to concentrate on nursing home and assisted living abuse and neglect. In law school, she served as volunteer and co-coordinator for the Wills/Advanced Directives Pro Bono Project, gaining insight into the needs of the vulnerable elderly population and exploring her passion for helping those who need it most. Nicholas Tessener
A worldwide traveler intent on improving his community, Nicholas Tessener joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin as a personal injury attorney with a focus on litigation in September 2020. He is a member of North Carolina's House Select Committee on Community Relations, Law Enforcement, and Justice and has the goal of helping improve relations between the state's law enforcement and the communities it serves. In law school, Tessener travelled to Scotland, where he attended the Academy of the Advocate, and to Africa, where he participated in an interactive study of the history, race relations, and human rights throughout the region. Nicholas earned a Juris Doctor from Campbell University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at Lycoming College.
