James Travis Flynn, Former VOYA Financial Advisor, Subject of Recently Filed Investor Suit
Rex Securities Law recently filed a FINRA arbitration suit against VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. on behalf of a retired couple from Greenville, South Carolina. The suit alleges that former VOYA stockbroker James T. Flynn made unsuitable recommendations to invest in REITs and other alternative investments causing huge losses to their retirement nest egg.
GREENVILLE, S.C., March 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Rex Securities Law recently filed FINRA arbitration #18-3490 against financial firm VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. on behalf of a retired factory worker and his wife.
The suit alleges that VOYA failed to supervise their former employee, James "Jim" Flynn, who recommended that they invest a large percentage of their retirement funds in real estate investment trusts (REITs) and other alternative, non-publicly traded and illiquid investments. According to court documents, as a result of the alleged recommendations the retirees are unable to meet daily living and health care expenses.
