Kaufman County Commissioners Court Meetings Streaming Live
DALLAS (PRWEB) January 31, 2019 -- The Kaufman County Commissioners Court is streaming their weekly meetings live and on-demand with hands-free video® streaming and broadcast services provided by Swagit Productions.
In 2018, Kaufman County renovated and upgraded their courtroom. In the process, the County also resolved their need for the Court’s meetings to be professionally broadcast and streamed without additional County staff involvement.
“Swagit’s EASE™ and Avior™ hands-free video streaming and broadcast solutions were the perfect fit for Kaufman County,” said Russell Towers, Swagit Account Manager. “After research and recommendations from neighboring cities and counties, County Clerk Laura Hughes and her team identified the specific solution they needed as clerks, and that would also benefit the residents of the County.”
The Kaufman County Clerks’ Office is committed to improve their services and to increase the accessibility of public records through technology. By live streaming their Commissioners Court meetings, the County provides immediate access to meetings as they occur, to all residents of their seven cities. The on-demand meeting video allows County residents to watch the recorded meetings at their convenience.
“We had been using a tablet webcam for meeting broadcasts,” said Laura Hughes, Kaufman County Clerk. “We didn’t have the staff or equipment for a more professional video production, and Swagit’s solution was ideal for our needs.”
“Our residents now have an excellent way to observe the actions of Kaufman County government,” said Kaufman County Judge Hal Richards.
The County streams their weekly Commissioners Court meetings live on their website; meetings can also be viewed by visiting: http://kaufmancountytx.swagit.com/live. The weekly meetings are indexed and archived for accessible on-demand viewing. Once a meeting is archived, the on-demand feature allows viewers to choose which meeting agenda items or conversations they wish to watch, and then jumps directly to that particular video segment. The County Commissioners Court meeting archives are available on their website: http://kaufmancountytx.swagit.com/commissioners-court.
By continuing to provide public meeting transparency, the County is in advance compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, which mandates that a Governmental body, including a county commissioners court in the state in a county with a population of 125,000 or more, shall broadcast its open meetings over the internet and maintain the archived videos on the internet.
