VICTORIA, British Columbia, Jan. 29, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- KeyNexus Inc., the leader in unified key management (UKM), an approach to encryption key management that allows enterprises to leverage a single, centralized approach to serve all their encryption needs, announced today that they have achieved Nutanix Ready status, enabling data-at-rest encryption for Nutanix self-encrypting drives.
With the release of NOS 4.1, Nutanix added data-at-rest encryption that leverages FIPS 140-2 Level-2 validated self-encrypting drives. Nutanix has future-proofed their encryption by adopting the Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP). With the adoption of the KMIP client, Nutanix has made encryption easier to deploy, but you still need an external KMIP-enabled key management server (KMS) to employ the functionality.
"Through the KeyNexus KMIP Server, Nutanix customers can take advantage of data-at-rest encryption that satisfies many regulatory compliance requirements for government, financial, healthcare and other industries that need to protect sensitive data," said Paul Lechner, VP of Product at KeyNexus.
"While open standards like KMIP are instrumental to future proofing encryption deployment, KMIP server availability is limited to a small number of vendors, is often poorly implemented, and organizations are looking for more modern KMS deployment options, such as software-only, cloud-based and embedded solutions. KeyNexus is committed to staying current with the latest version of the KMIP spec and integrating major aspects the specification that supports a wide variety of use cases for a wide array of key management implementations."
For Nutanix users, KeyNexus provides full control of the encryption lifecycle. Whether Nutanix users want to take advantage of encrypting one drive or thousands of drives, KeyNexus provides an easy-to-use, easy-to-deploy key management solution that can also be extended to other use cases, keeping key management under one, single interface for ease of administration.
