Kids can fly! New EAA/Dynamic Aviation agreement opens possibilities
The Experimental Aircraft Association's AeroEducate initiative will open its opportunities to credit NEXTGEN Aviators participants, allowing for more options for young people to discover the world of flight. AeroEducate is an online program premiering in 2022 that is open to youth, parents, and teachers.
OSHKOSH, Wisc., March 11, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Experimental Aircraft Association and Dynamic Aviation of Bridgewater, Virginia, have entered into a cooperation agreement that will allow both organizations to expand their youth aviation programs.
"EAA and Dynamic Aviation have the same goal: To introduce aviation to more young people and encourage them to explore the many facets of it that are possibilities for them," said Rick Larsen, EAA's vice president of communities and member programs. "Connecting with EAA's AeroEducate resources will help young people inspired by the hands-on activities at a Dynamic Aviation NEXTGEN Aviators session to discover what's next as far as opportunities within the world of flight."
EAA's AeroEducate program, formally unveiled at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2021, is a bold new program that opens a wide spectrum of possibilities that is interactive, educational, and engaging for young people ages 5 to 18 years old. AeroEducate's web-based resource provides clear, age-appropriate pathways to aviation and aerospace engagement, and even career paths.
Under the agreement, those enrolling in Dynamic Aviation's NEXTGEN Aviators program will have the opportunity to enroll in AeroEducate and receive AeroEducate badging credit for participating. In addition, local EAA Chapters will have the option of participating at local NEXTGEN events in their areas. Dynamic Aviation may also organize youth-oriented NEXTGEN events at AirVenture each summer.
"We have seen the enthusiasm of young people in Virginia when they are at our NEXTGEN activities and they leave wanting to know more and engage more fully in aviation," said Shane Combs, Director of Partner Relations and Marketing for Dynamic Aviation. "EAA's AeroEducate program provides that next step in a way that young people can engage on a timeline that works best for them, and even welcomes their parents and teachers to discover more as well."
The first NEXTGEN event under the cooperative EAA/Dynamic Aviation agreement is scheduled for March 24-25 in Bridgewater, Virginia.
