Latino Business Action Network (LBAN) Announces 73 Latinx Entrepreneurs' Completion of the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative Education-Scaling Program
The goal of LBAN is to double the number of $10+ million, $100+ million and $1+ billion Latino-owned businesses in the U.S. by 2025.
PALO ALTO, Calif., July 7, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Latino Business Action Network (LBAN) will recognize 73 scaled Latina and Latino businesses from across the United States on Saturday, July 7th, at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. The entrepreneurs have completed the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative Education (SLEI-Ed)-Scaling Program, an immersive seven-week program providing participants with valuable scaling frameworks, a diversified network of capital providers, business mentorship and a deep understanding of mobilizing resources for scaling and sustainable business growth. LBAN collaborates with Stanford University to champion the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative (SLEI). The "Scaling Up Your Venture" course—offered through Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Education—is taught by world-renowned scaling expert Huggy Rao, Stanford Graduate School of Business Faculty.
LBAN is chaired and cofounded by Victor Arias, Jr. Professor Jerry I. Porras, co-author of the international best seller, Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies and the Lane Professor of Organizational Behavior, Emeritus at Stanford Graduate School of Business is LBAN's Chairman Emeritus and cofounder. Board members include Sol Trujillo, Phil Pompa, Frank Ramirez, David Segura, Monika Mantilla, Beto Pallares, Dr. Paul Oyer (Ex-Officio) and Mark Madrid (Ex-Officio), who serves as LBAN's CEO. Melody Estrada serves as LBAN's Director of Marketing, and Tiq Chapa as Director of External Relations. The criteria for Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative Education-Scaling Program applicants is generation of annual gross revenues of at least $1 Million or having raised at least $500,000 from external sources.
With the sixth cohort of SLEI-Ed, combined annual revenues for the 425 program graduates surpass the $1.5 Billion mark. The Latino entrepreneurs span 30 states across the U.S. and employ over 20,000.
