LexisNexis Managed Technology Services Obtains ISO 9001 Certification for Quality Management
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) March 18, 2015 -- LexisNexis® Legal & Professional today announced that its Managed Technology Services business was awarded International Quality System Standard ISO 9001:2008 certification, in recognition of the company’s compliance with global standards for quality management.
“Achieving ISO 9001:2008 certification is an important milestone for LexisNexis because it provides our customers with independent validation that we have state-of-the-art quality management systems and processes,” said Allan Huber, vice president of operations for Managed Technology Services at LexisNexis. “This global certification is a result of our pursuit of continuous improvement and ongoing commitment to be the most reliable managed services provider in the legal industry.”
For a company to be considered for ISO certification, it must demonstrate the ability to consistently provide services that both meet customer specifications and comply with regulatory requirements. In addition, the company must aim to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of its systems, including the dedication to continuous improvement of their organization and its processes. All of these factors are tested through a detailed audit.
The ISO 9001:2008 certification is the latest third-party validation to be obtained by the LexisNexis Managed Technology Services team. Last year, the company was granted ISO 27001:2005 certification for its information security management systems. That standard specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving a documented data security management system within an organization. It also includes requirements for the assessment and treatment of information security risks tailored to the needs of the organization.
“These certifications provide objective endorsement that LexisNexis is committed to worldwide best practices in the way we receive, manage and protect the data that our customers entrust with us,” said Huber.
The LexisNexis Managed Technology Services team safeguards customers critical systems, data and data access with a wide range of hosted offerings that are customizable to an organization’s needs. The company’s managed services ensure business continuity, increase security levels and reduce exposure to data losses. These services are backed by 35 years of legal industry experience, strong data management and world-class Tier III, SSAE 16 Certified Data Centers.
