AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Schools across North Dakota have officially began a partnership with Livingtree, a leading provider of family engagement professional development and technology. Livingtree is enhancing family engagement in North Dakota schools through a program designed to support improved student learning.
As part of the partnership and services offered, schools have access to the Livingtree Engage platform, a private, safe and secure technology that allows for teachers and families to work together more collaboratively. Simplifying the way that schools engage families, Livingtree connects educators and families across school districts on one platform and provides families better access to their child's day-to-day learning.
"An early proponent of deeper family engagement, Livingtree understands the correlation between student achievement and family efficacy," said Gary Hensley, CEO and President of Livingtree, Inc. "We are thrilled to be working with educators across North Dakota to provide innovative solutions and professional development to help improve the success of every North Dakota student."
In addition, North Dakota educators participated in the Livingtree Family Engagement Professional Development designed to complement school efforts with learning outcome goals by incorporating effective and measurable family engagement processes. School teams received capacity-building professional training created by National Family Engagement Expert Dr. Steve Constantino and Family and Student Engagement Specialist Jeromie Heath. The curriculum emphasizes a family-focused culture while providing teachers with the necessary family engagement skills and strategies to benefit students outside of school. The two-day regional trainings included targeted strategies to promote the efficacy of families, and the integration of Livingtree's technology featuring the exclusive Family Efficacy Score™ (FES). The platform will be fully implemented across the North Dakota starting January 2020 allowing all North Dakota educators to measure the degree to which they are engaging with families in the learning lives of students and how that engagement translates into specific measurement of learning for students.
"Every school struggles with family engagement and if you're like us, we aren't exactly sure what to target to make improvements because it is overwhelming," said Anna Sell, Oakes Elementary Principal and Family Engagement workshop participant. "After attending, I feel like we can take on the challenge."
