CHARLESTON, S.C., July 11, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- George Sink, P.A. Injury Lawyers once again demonstrated its commitment to the Lowcountry community with its gift-matching for donations to the Charleston Animal Society. The personal injury law firm raised the bar on this year's Lowcountry Giving Day by matching every gift up to $5,000 made to the organization's spay and neuter program.
Improving the health and well-being of Charleston's furry and feathered residents is a mission that George Sink, Sr., founder and president of George Sink, P.A. Injury Lawyers, embraces with true conviction.
"We care deeply about the animals of our community, and we want to give the community a chance to show how much they care, too," Sink said as he launched the firm's gift-matching campaign.
"So many problems in the world these days are too complicated, too massive in scope to make a difference. We have a chance today to help solve an important problem. By spaying and neutering the animals of our community, we prevent unwanted litters and actually save lives. It's an achievable goal, and we want to help make it happen," Sink continued.
Since 1874, the Charleston Animal Society has embraced the mission of preventing cruelty to animals. For the 2019 Lowcountry Giving Day, the organization announced its goal to raise $200,000 to spay/neuter thousands of dogs and cats in the Charleston and the Lowcountry community. The Rachael Ray Foundation donated $100,000 to the cause, which got the organization halfway toward its goal.
When Sink's law firm stepped up to the plate with its gift-matching offer, it gave Charleston Animal Society a huge boost toward meeting its goal by midnight, when Lowcountry Giving Day ended. Sink, a long-time believer in giving back to community, said he hoped the gift-matching program would not only help the animals of Charleston and the Lowcountry, but also open people's eyes to the affirmation of self that comes with community involvement.
"When we support the efforts of organizations like Charleston Animal Society, we re-connect with our humanity," Sink said. "Our firm sincerely hopes that, by matching gifts made by the good people of Charleston, we will remind them that they really can make a difference in the world. It doesn't matter how or where you start, so long as you start."
