NEW YORK, Nov. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Equality-minded publication Love Inc. Magazine is pushing gender boundaries once again with its latest issue, spotlighting gender-fluid attire in the reveal of a much-anticipated non-binary fashion cover shoot.
"The goal was to present an innovative and unprecedented look at the evolution of wedding wear," says Editor-in-Chief Brittny Drye, who initially gained global recognition in 2015, by being the first wedding magazine to remove gender from the cover, featuring androgynous model Dylan Stephens in a caped Inbal Dror wedding gown.
The latest issue's cover shoot takes place in an abandoned church in Philadelphia, meant to capture the beauty within the non-binary and showcase gender-queer styles that embody an individual. "Fashion is a way so many of us find and express freedom to be who they are and that story needed to be told within a wedding landscape," Drye expands.
Drye regularly publishes alternative options to 'traditional' wedding clothing, and has become an industry leader in shattering both social and gender norms.
"While we've certainly come a long way in terms of LGBTQ placement in the wedding industry, it's still done in a very binary manner. I hope this opens up the conversation to creating more non-binary and inclusive content within a traditionally very heteronormative and cisgender-driven industry," continues Drye.
Fashion stylist Krista Roser helped coordinate outfits for the shoot from well-known fashion designers, as well as those that are known to be more gender-neutral in range. 'Androgynous dreamy' was Drye's inspiration for the Beautini beauty team, and the models – Jake LaBarbera and Vanessa Villegas – tapped into both masculine and feminine sides to make both looks a reality. Photographer Phillip Van Nostrand captured the models and evolving elements seamlessly.
Love Inc. actively celebrates diversity and provides tips and trends for couples looking to uniquely pull off their own wedding, with inclusive language and etiquette that extends to the entire LGBTQ community.
"My hope is that this issue continues to encourage individuals to be themselves and lets them know that they don't have to cater to society's binary expectations. You don't have to limit your wedding attire choices to suits or dresses. Or, you can pair those dresses and suits with capes and tulle skirts. The important thing is to have your outfit be representative of you, no matter where you, and/or your style, falls on the spectrum," shares Drye.
The digital issue will be available for free beginning today on Love Inc. Magazine's website as well as issuu.com/loveincmag.
