WASHINGTON, Dec. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Board of Directors of the Long-Term Quality Alliance (LTQA) is pleased to announce that Mary Kaschak is joining the organization as Executive Director effective January 1, 2019.
Mary will replace Larry Atkins, who has served as LTQA's Executive Director for the last five years. Larry will remain on the LTQA staff as Research Director and will remain in his role as Executive Director of the affiliated National MLTSS Health Plan Association. Mary will serve as Deputy Executive Director of the MLTSS Association.
Mary comes to the Alliance with ten years of experience in aging and health policy, most recently as Deputy Director of the Aging and Disability Business Institute at the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a). At the Business Institute, Mary played a lead role in advancing the readiness and business acumen of community-based organizations (CBOs) to successfully engage in the design and delivery of integrated care systems for older adults and younger adults with disabilities. Mary's responsibilities at the Business Institute included business development, grant management, and oversight of day-to-day operations.
Mary's selection was the culmination of a year-long national search. LTQA Board Chair Carol Raphael noted that "Mary comes to LTQA with extensive knowledge and experience with the delivery of long-term services and supports (LTSS) and the care experience for older and younger adults with disabilities. Her passion for the people who need these services, her commitment to advancing integrated care, and her experience obtaining and managing federal and foundation grants on LTSS matters will be invaluable to the Alliance."
"We appreciate Larry's leadership and substantial contribution to the growth and development of LTQA, and are grateful that he has agreed to stay on and assist in its continued success as it moves into a new era under Mary's able leadership."
