RALEIGH, N.C., Dec. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- This week, pioneers in self-publishing, Lulu.com, announced that CEO Bob Young has been recognized as one of the Best CEOs in the country by career data website Comparably.com, in their annual Best Places to Work Awards!
The news came to Young just as he was expertly unloading the dishwasher in the kitchen of Lulu's headquarters.
"I don't think any of us are surprised...Bob is an amazing CEO and mentor," noted Lulu VP of Marketing, Matt Briel, while stepping past Bob to deposit a spoon covered in peanut butter straight into the dishwasher. "The example he's set, the support he gives us, the encouragement and flexibility he's provided are the reasons we've been able to continue growing and innovating in this industry. Especially as it relates to the people we're able to hire and the culture we've built."
Young, who founded Lulu in 2002, was asked to comment: "This is certainly exciting," said Young, polishing a fork before carefully sorting it into a drawer. "Most people don't know this, but 'Lulu' is an actual word...It means something or somebody that is remarkable or wonderful, and we're fortunate to have an entire organization full of Lulus."
As one of Red Hat's original co-founders and a serial entrepreneur, Bob continues to play a significant role in industries ranging from book publishing, to drone technology, to professional football and soccer. Across the spectrum of these industries and companies like Lulu, Red Hat and Precision Hawk, one constant has always been his commitment to making the world a better place, one well-run business at a time.
