SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 15, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Marina Growth Strategies (MGS) has hired John Proctor, a veteran telecommunications software executive, as Managing Director. Proctor brings nearly three decades of industry experience to MGS, where he is expected to accelerate revenue growth and to provide improved access for East Coast clients by opening a second office in North Carolina's Research Triangle Park corridor.
Proctor will join Andrew M. Miller, the company's founder, who will continue providing hands-on leadership as Managing Director leading overall strategy and direction, and West Coast offices.
MGS is a San Francisco-based consulting firm with unique capabilities in strategic planning, market development, and go-to-market optimization, with services optimized for companies delivering technology – hardware, software, or cloud-based SaaS – to business customers. MGS also provides clients access to best in class technology, investment, and route-to-market resources through the breadth of industry relationships developed over 30 plus years of experience.
"We're pleased to welcome John Proctor to the MGS team" says Andrew Miller. "John's mastery of strategic planning, partnerships and sales channel development – along with his extensive experience helping companies launch and grow cloud-based SaaS offers – makes him uniquely qualified to join our firm."
Before joining MGS, Proctor was Director, Cloud Calling Channel Sales at Cisco, where he was responsible for working with channel partners to grow Cisco's cloud Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) and Contact Center product lines.
Prior to that at BroadSoft, Proctor led the effort to create BroadCloud, BroadSoft's cloud based UCaaS line of business, leading all aspects of the service development, and guiding product, marketing, and sales team activities. BroadCloud was central to BroadSoft's evolution from a software company to a cloud company. BroadCloud ultimately contributed nearly 25% of BroadSoft's annual revenue and was a key component in Cisco's acquisition of BroadSoft for $1.9 billion.
Andrew Miller previously served as CEO of teleconferencing companies Polycom and Tandberg. He also has held senior positions at Cisco Systems and IPC Systems. During more than two decades in the technology and telecom industries, he has been a director on numerous public company boards including Gigamon, BroadSoft, Bridgepoint, and Informatica, and collaborated on two successful enterprise communications IPOs. He founded the Andrew Miller Foundation in 2017 to increase awareness and financial support for under-recognized charitable organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Marina Growth Strategies donates a portion of its revenue to the Andrew Miller Foundation.
In addition to guest lecturing at UCLA, USC and Stanford, Miller has spoken at the World Economic Forum in Davos and the Aspen Ideas Festival.
