Sweet Rewards with Weekend Easter Egg Hunt at Maritime Aquarium
Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) April 18, 2014 -- Sweet rewards are available if you find the Easter eggs hidden around The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk this weekend.
Visitors to the South Norwalk attraction can search for five eggs placed strategically throughout the Aquarium galleries April 19th and 20th. They might be in among the sharks, river otter, jellyfish, meerkats or other animals.
This is more than an egg hunt, though.
“These eggs need to be unscrambled,” said Chris Loynd, the Aquarium’s marketing director. “Each egg will be marked with a letter. We challenge kids to find all five eggs and use the letters to spell our special code word.”
Visitors who figure out the code word can turn in their Egg Hunt sheet at the Aquarium Gift Shop for a special holiday treat.
It’s free with Aquarium admission.
“We’re happy to add this holiday bonus for some special family fun this weekend,” Loynd said. “But remember that an ‘Aquarium Scavenger Hunt’ is always available on our website to print out and bring along to make your visit into a fun and educational challenge.”
Colorful eggs, by the way, are not unusual among marine animals. Fish, amphibians and marine arthropods (like crabs) lay eggs in a variety of sizes and a rainbow of colors.
The Maritime Aquarium is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to educate visitors about – and to create stewards for – Long Island Sound. It accomplishes this by allowing visitors to get close to more than 250 species native to the Sound and its watershed, including sharks, seals, sea turtles, river otters, jellyfish and other animals. One of the top places for family fun in Connecticut, the Aquarium also features hands-on educational programs and displays, public study cruises out onto the Sound, and Connecticut's largest IMAX movie theater, with a screen that's six stories high.
