Martial Arts Educator William Kwok Honored By New York State Assembly
New York State Assemblyman Peter Abbate has selected William Kwok to receive a Certificate of Merit and a citation of his contribution to martial arts and Chinese culture. Mr. Kwok is a globally recognized martial arts educator and has dedicated his life to teaching martial arts and promoting its culture to thousands of Americans to help improve their mind and body.
BROOKLYN, N.Y., Nov. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- New York State Assemblyman Peter Abbate has selected William Kwok to receive a Certificate of Merit and a citation of his contribution to promoting martial arts and Chinese culture. This recognition is given to individuals who improve the lives of others within their community and the Great State of New York.
William Kwok is a globally recognized martial arts educator. He is the founder of Martial Arts Education Society and the headmaster of Gotham Martial Arts in New York City. He has dedicated his life to teaching martial arts and its culture to thousands of Americans to help improve their mind and body. Besides teaching, Mr. Kwok is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Education at Northeastern University after he earned his master's degree from Harvard. The goal of his research is to develop a martial arts based social-emotional learning program for elementary school students.
Mr. Kwok is an inner disciple of Practical Wing Chun founder Wan Kam Leung and has been promoting his teacher's martial arts system since 2008. This month marks the 10th anniversary of Practical Wing Chun in America. "Their remarkable achievements make them truly worthy of the esteem of the community and the great State of New York," stated Assemblyman Peter Abbate. "On this occasion of the 10th anniversary of Practical Wing Chun in America, we congratulate Grandmaster Wan Kam Leung and Master William Kwok on their achievements."

Along with William Kwok, nine recipients were also honored Certificate of Merit at Park Asia's 13th Anniversary Charity Gala for their dedicated efforts to their community.
